Members of the Meredith Bay Barbershop Quartet Jamboree will be joining us at 12:30.  Barbershop singers from across New England will gather and bring together their love of ringing harmony and locking chords. This event is not to be missed!

SweetLife

Founded in 2015 by Andrea Bossie and Sam Wiggin, SweetLife started with two main goals: sing barbershop music well, and have an absolutely ridiculous amount of fun doing it. In 2023, Karen brought the low notes and the sass. In June, the quartet celebrated their one year anniversary of Ciara joining as baritone.

Over the years, SweetLife has had a blast climbing the Harmony Incorporated ranks, winning the 2026 Area 2 Quartet Championship along with awards for Most Improved Overall and Highest Performance Score Improvement. Expanding their horizons in 2026, the quartet debuted in the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) Northeastern District and proudly took home the Patriot Division Championship— the first treble quartet to do so.

Whether they’re ringing chords, laughing until they cry, or hanging out at one of Karen’s Woodshed parties, SweetLife is all about friendship, music, and making the journey just as sweet as the destination!

Continuum

Continuum was formed in December 2025 by four singers brought together through a shared love of traditional barbershop harmony and a desire to continue honing the craft of quartet singing. Though separated by hundreds of miles, from Central New York to South Central Florida, the quartet makes it a priority to gather regularly, combining hard work with plenty of laughter and camaraderie along the way.

As students of the barbershop art form, Continuum is passionate about more than simply singing notes. The quartet is dedicated to the pursuit of ringing chords, expanded sound, and the unique musical artistry that has made barbershop harmony so enduring. In an era when traditional barbershop craftsmanship is becoming rare, the group is committed to preserving and promoting the style they love.

After just three months together, Continuum earned the title of 2026 WBQA Quartet Champions, a milestone that only strengthened their enthusiasm for the future. The quartet looks forward to many years of performing, competing, and sharing their music with audiences and fellow singers throughout the broader barbershop community, including the WBQA, Barbershop Harmony Society, SingUnited International, Harmony, Inc., and beyond.

They hope you enjoy their big, powerful sound. Meet the members of Continuum:

Byron Poore — Tenor

Hailing from Madison, Florida, nestled between Jacksonville and Tallahassee, Byron Poore serves as Continuum's tenor and resident barbershop veteran (the old guy). Married to his wife Jennifer, Byron is a proud father of four and has been singing barbershop harmony since the early 1990s. With several Sunshine District quartet championships to his credit, he's accumulated enough experience to know exactly what he's doing, at least most of the time.

When he's not soaring above the chord stack, Byron dedicates much of his time to serving his community and helping it thrive. A longtime financial advisor and devoted family man, he balances professional success, community involvement, and family life while still finding time to pursue his passion for ringing chords and great quartet singing.

Dave Melonson — Lead

Dave Melonson calls Syracuse, New York home, where he works as an electrical engineer for Central New York's electric utility, Nationalgrid. Alongside his wife Tonya and their three energetic boys, Dave somehow manages to find time for barbershop harmony, golf, and everything else that comes with a busy family life.

Dave's barbershop journey began in 2008 when he and Matt first sang together in their college quartet, Universal. The pair later reunited in Lake Effect and again in Vintage Rendition, the 2024 WBQA Silver Medalist Quartet. Along the way, Dave has also earned district recognition through several Seneca Land District quartets. Whether he's leading a ballad, chasing a golf ball, or chauffeuring three boys to their next sport, Dave brings enthusiasm, musicianship, and a steady presence to Continuum.
 

Matthew Clancy — Baritone

Matthew Clancy resides in Lake Placid, Florida, where he operates his life insurance and wealth preservation business, Forge Stone Legacy. A lifelong barbershop enthusiast, Matt joined the Barbershop Harmony Society in 2003 and has since worn many hats, including quartet singer, chorus leader, and front-line director.

Most notably, Matt was a founding member of Signature Quartet, earning two International Silver Medals before stepping away from quartet singing for several years. After a six-year hiatus, he decided it was time to sing with friends again, helping form Vintage Rendition alongside Dave. Following that quartet's brief but memorable run, Matt and Dave agreed they weren't finished singing together and began building what would eventually become Continuum. Looking for the right bass, Matt reached out to a former quartet mate from Signature after his retirement from championship quartet singing. 
When he's not singing barbershop, Matt enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, growing his business, and, despite occasional denials, playing video games from time to time.
 

Dan Walz — Bass

Dan Walz serves as the bass of Continuum and provides the foundation upon which the quartet's sound is built. Residing just outside Atlanta, Georgia, Dan works as a project manager for Ryan Homes and somehow manages to balance the demands of work, quartet rehearsals, and life's endless responsibilities.

Dan has been singing barbershop since the early 2000s and has enjoyed success at every level of the hobby. His accomplishments include a Carolinas District Quartet Championship, a Sunshine District championship with Signature Quartet, and most notably, an International Quartet Championship with Signature in 2019. He also holds the unique distinction of being part of the longest-reigning quartet championship in Barbershop Harmony Society history. Thanks to the pandemic and the cancellation of international competitions, Signature remained the reigning International Quartet Champion for two extra years, a record hopefully never to be beaten.

When he isn't working or singing bass, Dan enjoys spending time with his parents in Greenville, South Carolina. As for other hobbies, Dan insists he's too busy to have any, and honestly, we believe him.

The name Continuum reflects not only the group's musical journey, but also the relationships that brought its members together. In a continuum, neighboring points appear nearly indistinguishable from one another, while greater differences become apparent only when comparing the extremes. Much the same can be said for this quartet. The members are connected through decades of shared experiences, former quartets, and longstanding friendships. While no two singers followed exactly the same path, each connection naturally led to the next, creating a continuous thread that ultimately brought all four voices together.
