Holocaust Film Series: Casablanca

Holocaust Film Series: Casablanca In-Person

Winning Academy Awards for Best Picture, Director and Adapted Screenplay, Casablanca tells the story of Rick, an American expatriate, who must choose between the woman he loves and helping her husband, a partisan-resistance fighter, escape from the Vichy-controlled city of Casablanca to continue his fight against the Nazi's. Following the film there will be a discussion.  This is the second of three films in a series with a goal to provide audiences with greater insight into the social, political, and cultural contexts of the Holocaust and antisemitism by connecting film narratives to historical events.
